CAI Lab @ CityU
For Sustainable Aquaculture and Fish Health

Cai Lab focuses on advancing research in aquaculture and aquatic animal health. Our team investigate pathogen-host interactions, disease-resistant breeding, and vaccine development strategies to enhance fish health management in both freshwater and marine species. We use cutting-edge omics technologies (such as single-cell sequencing, genomics, epigenetics, transcriptomics, etc.) to investigate the pathogen-fish interaction and validate the findings by molecular techniques, such as CRISPR (for fish host cells), DNA recombination (for bacterial cells) and other biological approaches. Through close collaboration with key industry partners and government research institutes, we are committed to developing sustainable solutions for the future of aquaculture.
